Welcome to my website!

     I write picture books and poems for kids because I am excited by the idea that my words are engaging minds that will carry their impact into the future. Nature inspires and relaxes me, and most kids I know love nature too, so it is often a focus of my writing. I also like to write words that are fun to read aloud, which is what picture books and poems are all about.

     I especially like the idea of playing a small part in fostering the connections that develop between a kid and an adult when they cozy up together on a sofa, library rug, hammock, wherever, and open a picture book. Nothing can replace those peaceful, joyful (or sometimes silly, rambunctious) moments of sharing color and sound, facts and stories that engage the senses and create opportunities to discover each other and the world.
